Narda/Ottoman Arta: the transition from the late Ottoman period in Greek city

The scientific meeting and the music event entitled "Narda/Ottoman Arta: the transition from the late Ottoman period in Greek city" was held with great success and great participation of conveners and spectators. The event was co-hosted by the TEI of Epirus and the Municipality of Arta on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 June 2015, in Arta.

During the scientific meeting distinguished scholars from Greece and abroad participated and presented significant papers for this period of Arta history, which has been understudied.

The musical part of the events took place in a wonderful atmosphere, at the courtyard of the mosque of Faik Pasha, in the Imaret of Arta, with the participation of musicians and students and an enthusiastic crowd of spectators. The above events were organised by the Laboratory of Balkan and Ottoman Music, History and Cultures, which operates in the Department of Traditional Music of TEI of Epirus.
