TEI of Epirus is the only Greek University participating in the UNISCAPE Network of Universities for the Promotion of the European Landscape Convention. The UNISCAPE network (http://www.uniscape.eu/), involves 52 universities from across Europe which include sections related to environment and landscape architecture. Within the promotional framework of the Convention which has been signed in 2000 by Greece but ratified, adopted and came into force in 2010 (N 3827, Government Gazette A '30 / 25-10-2010, http://www.unesco.org/culture/natlaws/media/pdf/greece/gre_law3827_10_eurlandscapeconv_greorof), the network systematically develops actions on research, development and awareness. Since its beginning of collaboration with UNISCAPE network in 2012, the institution was represented by Assistant Professor Dr. John Tsirogiannis. Recently the position of the representative has been assigned to Professor Dr. Alexander Kantartzis, who in collaboration with other members of the department of Agricultural Technologists will make every effort for the promotion and implementation of this important convention in Greece.
